We are big fans of bourbon (and most other alcohol :)) and a classic Manhattan is one of our most frequently made drinks. I’m always looking for a new twist on a bourbon cocktail too though, and I love pomegranate molasses so much, so wanted to give this pomegranate bourbon cocktail a try. If you haven’t had pomegranate molasses you need to try it! It is great in salad dressings, drizzled over yogurt, or used in desserts. I usually buy this one:
I didn’t have pomegranate juice, so I just upped the molasses a little and then used extra orange juice.
Pomegranate Bourbon Cocktail
Cocktail made from pomegranate juice, pomegranate molasses, bourbon and orange juice
Servings 2 drinks
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce pomegranate molasses
- 1 ounce pomegranate juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 4 ounces bourbon
- 1 dash bitters
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass (if you are too lazy to chill your glasses like I am, just fill them with some ice for a few minutes, then dump the ice, and you have a quick chilled glass). Serve with an orange twist if you want.
