Since I got this bottle of kümmel I mentioned in last week’s bourbon and kümmel, I wanted to try making another drink using it. We had all the ingredients for the after hours, so I went with that. The drink is a combo of kümmel, gin, maraschino liqueur and bitters plus some water.
This cocktail was so/so. It was strong, which I like, but the maraschino liqueur was a bit too strong and really mostly all you could taste, so if I made it again, I would reduce the amount by 1/2 or possibly sub that out with some orange liqueur instead like triple sec or Cointreau. I couldn’t really taste the kümmel in this, so I will keep looking for a drink that features more of it’s lovely caraway flavor.
