Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole

Cheesy, beefy, delicious cheeseburger filling topped with crunchy tater tots

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup diced onion
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp dill relish
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • fresh black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • frozen tater tots

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 and grease a deep pie plate or a 9x13 pan. In a skillet over medium heat, heat a tbsp of oil oil. Add the onion and ground beef. Stir, breaking up the meat. Sprinkle the meat with the salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder.
  • Cook until the meat is full cooked, then add the ketchup, mustard, relish and Worcestershire sauce. Put this meat mixture into your baking dish.
  • Rinse the skillet and put it back over medium heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt. Whisk in the flour and cook for a minute. Slowly whisk in the milk to avoid lumps. Cook, whisking, until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat and slowly mix in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese and season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  • Pour this sauce over the meat mixture. Top this with the 1/2 cup shredded cheese you have left and then fully cover the top with frozen tater tots. Place into the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, until it is bubbly and the tater tots are nice and crispy on top. Cool 5 minutes before serving. Try not to eat 2 helpings. :)
