Spiced Cranberry Sauce

I’m not going to lie, I like canned cranberry sauce. It is delicious. Homemade cranberry sauce is super easy though, and it is fun to make. Watching to cranberries pop open when heated is weirdly satisfying.

If you’ve never made homemade cranberry sauce, but would like to try, this is good recipe to go with. It has orange juice, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and a little spiced rum which gives it such a holiday flavor.

You can easily make this cranberry sauce a few days ahead of time and store it in your fridge in a sealed container. It keeps for a long time, similar to jam, because of the high amount of sugar.

This recipe can be totally adapted to your tastes and the spices can be left out or changed. You could simply cook the cranberries with sugar, OJ or water and a pinch of salt and end up with a great cranberry sauce.
