Smooth, smoky, and quietly sophisticated, the Bobby Burns cocktail is a classic Scotch whisky cocktail with timeless charm. Blended Scotch is stirred with sweet vermouth and a touch of Bénédictine liqueur, creating a drink that balances warmth, sweetness, and herbal complexity. Traditionally served straight up in a chilled coupe with a lemon twist, it’s a cocktail often enjoyed on Burns Night in honor of the Scottish poet Robert Burns—but it’s just as perfect any evening you want something rich and elegant.
Don’t you love these glasses? I used them instead of a coupe glass. I bought them recently at a thrift store and thought they were the perfect glass for serving this cocktail. I really liked this drink. If you aren’t a big scotch drinker, you could use bourbon instead. This is strong cocktail, but the sweet vermouth and Bénédictine make it really easy to drink 🙂 I love making cocktails and have a large list of taste tested and approved drinks you can check out here.
