Time for another Saturday Cocktail. We are moving my son into his college apartment today, so we tried to keep the cocktails within reason last night. Since we were only having one (probably), I wanted to go with a bourbon drink. I always truly feel like I’ve had a cocktail when it is a bourbon based one.

Man O’ War is made with bourbon, Cointreau, sweet vermouth and fresh lemon juice and garnished with brandied cherries. As usual I didn’t have all the ingredients, but I had everything other than brandied cherries. I had the amazing Luxardo cherries though so I used those. We were out of the good vermouth so I used the cheap stuff, which is not nearly as good, but will do in a pinch. See my comments on vermouth in my Manhattan post. This is simple cocktail. Just shake it all together in a cocktail shaker with ice and garnish with cherries. 🙂
