Roasted Harissa Salmon with Feta Avocado Relish is bold, smoky, and full of flavor. This dish brings the heat in all the right ways. Each filet is coated in a vibrant harissa paste, then oven-roasted to perfection for tender, flaky results with a hint of char. On top, a cool and creamy relish of diced avocado, crumbled feta, dill, and a splash of lemon balances the spice with richness and brightness. It’s a fast, flavorful dinner that feels gourmet but comes together in under 30 minutes. I served it with some basil herb couscous and a simple arugula salad.
I love salmon but it can be boring sometimes. I’m always looking for ways to make it new and enjoyable to eat. Harissa paste has so much flavor and it pairs really well with feta and avocado. You can used a jarred harissa paste, like this one, or you can make your own. If you buy a jar you can also use it to make my Harissa Chicken Bowls or Chorizo Gnocchi with Creamy Harissa Sauce.

Roasted Harissa Salmon with Feta Avocado Relish
Ingredients
For the fish:
- 4 boneless, skinless salmon filets defrosted if using frozen
- 2 tsp salt
- olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1-2 tbsp harissa paste per filet – I use this one.
- juice from 2 lemons or a packet of true lemon per filet
For the relish:
- 2 ripe avocados cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta You can increase or decrease this to taste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp fresh dill or 1/2 tsp dried
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a 9×13 pan with cooking spray and place the fish in the pan.
- Drizzle with oil oil and sprinkle with salt, garlic powder and true lemon or drizzle over the lemon juice. Spoon 1-2 tbsp of harissa on each depending on your liking. I used 2. Spread over the full top of the fish.
- Place in the oven to bake while you make the relish. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until your desired doneness. Use the broiler at the end to char up the harissa paste a bit. This makes the dish SO much tastier. Remove from the oven when done. To make the relish, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and toss. Season to taste.
- Plate the fish along with your salad or couscous and spoon the relish over the top.
