Whew! We had a tough time this past two weeks after my son had a pneumothorax at the end of our vacation while we were still away from home and ended up needing surgery. AND we finally got COVID. We are finally home and he is healing and I can’t wait to get back to cooking and sharing recipes. 😀 I wrote this post a while ago and this cocktail was super delicious, so hope you enjoy.
I love margaritas made with fresh fruit juice and not too much added sugar. The cantarito tequila cocktail is kind of a cross between a good margarita and a paloma. It is full of fresh citrus favor and some sweetness from the grapefruit soda (or in my case grapefruit sparkling water + simple syrup). I also added a little salt to the drink instead of to the rim, because it is so much easier and I like the salt throughout my drink. This was really tasty, but I ended up adding another 1/2 an ounce or so of tequila to each drink because I wasn’t strong enough for my tastes.

Cantarito Tequila Cocktail
Ingredients
- 3 oz tequila
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz fresh orange juice
- 8-12 oz grapefruit soda or sparkling water plus simple syrup
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mix the juices and tequila and salt in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Top off with as much soda or sparkling water as you like.
