I love the name of this cocktail and I love gin and citrus so couldn’t wait to try this one. This drink is mainly gin, with a bit of Cointreau and some lemon and lime juice. I also added some clementine juice for a bit of extra flavor. I used my Tinkerman’s citrus gin for this which was a perfect compliment to the citrus flavors.
I think I’ve mentioned before that we used the have a cocktail club subscription and they used these true lime and true lemon packets and I sometimes use these in cocktails if I don’t have the citrus or I’m feeling lazy. I also use these packets just in my water or in marinades. They add great citrus flavor with no added sugar.
The Dumpster Fire Cocktail
Gin cocktail with cointreau and citrus
Ingredients
- 2 oz gin
- 3/4 oz cointreau
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 2 dashes bitters
- orange twist
Instructions
- Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice until cold. Serve in a chilled glass with an orange twist if you like.
