We had this lovely overnighter cocktail last night. I really enjoyed this one, as I have mentioned I like strong drinks. To make this cocktail, start out with a nice pour of whiskey. Next it is given a bitter/sweet edge by the addition of Campari, Benedictine and dry vermouth.
I really liked the complexity of this drink. It is strong and definitely mean to be sipped slowly to fully appreciate all the different notes that hit your tongue. Add an orange twist to this for serving if you’d like.
If you like Campari, also try some of my other cocktails that feature its herbal complexity and bitterness – Salted Negroni, Ruby Cocktail, or the Negroni Svegliato.
